SOME LOUD THINKING
India is an Ancient country . India has thousands of years of Cultural History. It underwent through thousands of years of Invasions and Serfdom . The composition of its population also underwent . Just as Computer Screen colors have 256 x 256 x 256 RGB =16777216 colors, India has 16777216 cultures imposed by invaders imposing on the invadees numerous castes, religions, languages, relationships, funeral methods and what not! During and after invasions, the Impositions persisted through violence and inducements.
2014 -k2024 Ruling Party thinks that it is the sole Guardian of Hindus and the Hinduism. This self-appointed Guardianship is sometimes taken to extreme dimensions. On the other hand , Congress and some other Regional Parties believe that they alone rate Custodians of the Minorities in the country . Thus religion has become a commodity for Vote Bank Politics .
In Telugu language, we have a proverb: "kukka tOka vankara". A dog's tail will never be straight . Most political parties in India have dog-tails.

AGRICULTURAL MARKETING CRISES ~To what extent Central Government aggravates? **2020 Ruling Party of India has launched a Publicity Campaign that the Farm Laws enacted by it offer great freedom to farmers to sell their produce anywhere in India . The Opposition Parties are more interested in brandishing their swords against Government and the Ruling Party , rather than presenting to People of the country .
We shall take one field level example:
Place: Prattikonda Tomato producers, Kurnool District . Small and marginal farmers here produce tomatos with dedicated physical efforts from their family members and buying inputs with borrowed funds. Tomato fruits as vegetables in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets are sold @ Rs. 20 per kg. in Towns and Cities . Today's wholesale purchase price of tomatos in Prattikonda Market is Rs. 2/- per kg.

From the above table we see that minimum is Rs. 332 per quintal, or Rs. 3.32 per kg. Maximum price Rs. 9 per kg. very few people might have received. Modal Price may be the price determined by the AMC (Agricultural Market Committee) and the Government . All over India , it is a common practice among buyers, buyers' agents, dalAris (middlemen) to depress purchase prices by claiming that the fruits are of very poor quality. Consequently actual prices paid to the farmers will be far less than Rs 3.32 shown on Notice Board.

The above video of hmtv shows that on 23rd December 2020 tomatos were purchased at Pattikonda Markets @ Rs. 1/- per kg.
This apart the buyers have their own set of problems . 1. Tomato fruits perish quickly.
2. As Central and State Governments treat Diesel prices as "source of Revenue", Road transportation has become extremely prohibitive for truck-operators, agri-produce Traders, the Farmers and Consumers .
3. In the name of building World Class Roads , 4-lane roads are being thrust on people which most of them neither need nor can afford .
4. If the Pattikonda farmers want to take their tomatos to New Delhi by road and sell in Delhi markets, at how many toll gates he has to pay toll? Do illiterate and semi-literate farmers know anything about fast tags?
5. "Farmers can sell anywhere they like", is only an impractical concept.
6. Transporters' responsibility is only to transport the Tomatos from Point X in Pattikonda to Point Y in New Delhi.
7. Where will the farmers stay in New Delhi? The farmers know Telugu, but they do not know Hindi. The traders in Delhi know Hindi, but they do not know Telugu .
8. Simply because some Corporates have expressed their eagerness to enter into Contracts with farmers , it does not mean that they will adhere to their Contract terms, even when tidings are bleak. Under any circumstances Corporates will not like to bear losses by honoring commitments, or to share losses with farmers .
9. In India, everything becomes topsy-turvy once the Corporates foresee losses and risks . Then they will simply avoid contracts they entered into with farmers as if nothing happened in their vicinity.
10. Even Governments want to avoid risks .
prf/: During 2020 khariff season, Telangana Government forced farmers to cultivate fine varieties of rice . Excess rains and floods inundated fine rice crops and fields. The farmers salvaged whatever they could and brought to the markets . There were no Corporates or intermediaries to buy their crops. Government bodies rejected the farmers and their paddy, on the ground that there was moisture . After waiting outside the gates of the Government Agencies sleeping in tractors , finally the farmers had to sell their produce at throwaway prices and go home cursing the politicians who asked them to cultivate fine rice . The same Government Agencies which rejected grain from farmers , purchased the same moist grain from intermediaries at Minimum Support Price. Thus the Government lost its funds . Intermediaries and small farmers lost. The Government became weary or wary. Once bitten twice shy. Now, Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao has announced that Purchase Centres will be closed and farmers will be free to sell their produce and to whomsoever they want .

Commercial Borrowings usually have short repayment programs of say max. seven years . They carry Commercial rates of interest , which will naturally be high .
Non Resident Indians' deposits occupy 23%. Non-Resident Indians too seek high rates of interest . They have also started demanding Dual citizenships.
Blateral and mtilrldbt together have only 20% share. Earlier India used to have bilateral trade agreements with Communist countries at conessional rates with facility to repay in NCI Rupees (Non-Convertible Indian rupees . Now no such concessions .

In 1947 it was just 360 million . Now 3.5 times more . India launched its Population program as early as 1951-52. The momentum continued till 1977. Critics said that Late Sanjay Gandhi's overzealousness in enforcing sterilisations antagonized people towards Congress, during Emergency 1974-77.
All the subsequent Governments did not dare to venture into Population Control or Family Planning. They simply renamed the program "Family Welfare" and swept it under-to carpet. The End.
Now, India will cross China in "over-population". By 2050, India will become the most populated country in the world .
